Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and OAK TEK - FZCO ("we", "us", "our") covering the LootPick app and any LootPick website we operate. They apply whether you create an account or continue as a guest. Using LootPick means you accept them. If you do not, do not use it.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use LootPick. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use LootPick only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and any paid plan must be bought by an adult who accepts these terms.

Accounts and guest use

You can browse LootPick as a guest without signing up. In guest mode your lists live on your device, they are not synced or backed up by us, and clearing app data or changing device loses them. Some features need an account and will say so.

Accounts are handled by Clerk, our authentication provider, by email and password or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Tell us at play@lootpick.quest if you think someone else has access to it.

One account per person. Do not share it, sell it, or create accounts for other people without their permission. Keep the information you give us accurate.

You can delete your account from your Profile in the app. It removes your wishlist, your logged purchases and your profile, and it cannot be undone. What happens to the rest is set out in our Privacy Policy.

What LootPick is, and what it is not

LootPick pulls together game information, store prices, discounts, price history and review scores, and turns them into a Buy Now Score so you can decide when to buy. It also holds your wishlist, your backlog, your logged purchases, alerts you set, and a feed of current free game giveaways.

LootPick is not a store. We do not sell games, process game purchases, hold keys or licences, or take part in anything you buy elsewhere. When you follow a link out of LootPick you are dealing with that store, or with a giveaway run by someone else, under their terms. Any problem with an order, a key, a refund or a download is between you and them.

LootPick is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game publisher, developer, storefront or platform holder.

Prices and currency

Store prices in LootPick generally come from sources that publish in US dollars, for a US or global storefront. When you set a display currency other than the source currency, we convert using a fixed indicative rate held in the app. That converted figure is an approximation for comparison only. It is not a quote, it is not a live exchange rate, and it is not what your store will charge you. Regional pricing, local taxes, payment fees and your own card conversion can all move the real number.

The Buy Now Score

The Buy Now Score is our own calculation, built from things like discount depth, critic and player scores, how close a price sits to its historic low, and where a game ranks in your own list. It is an opinion expressed as a number. It is not advice, not a valuation, not a prediction that a price will or will not fall further, and not a promise that a deal is good. Where the app offers different scoring presets, they weight the same inputs differently and none of them is a guarantee. What you buy is your call.

Alerts and notifications

Alerts are best effort. Whether one reaches you depends on push services, your device settings, your network, and how quickly our data sources update. We do not guarantee that an alert will fire, that it will arrive in time, or that a deal will still be live when it does.

Your backlog and logged purchases

Purchase records, prices paid and completion status are entered by you. We do not verify them, and any savings figure, completion value or dashboard total the app shows you is only as accurate as what you put in. Treat it as a personal tracker, not a financial record.

Free games and giveaways

Giveaway listings come from a third-party feed. Availability, eligibility, regional limits and expiry are set by whoever runs the giveaway, not by us. Listings can be out of date by the time you tap them.

Connecting Steam

Connecting Steam is optional. If you connect it, we read your public Steam profile, owned games and wishlist so we can match them into LootPick. We never ask for or store your Steam password, we do not post or change anything on your account, and this only works for data your Steam privacy settings make public. Disconnect at any time in your profile. Steam is a Valve product and Valve is not involved in LootPick.

Third-party data

Game metadata, prices, price history, giveaway listings and library data come from IGDB, CheapShark, IsThereAnyDeal, GamerPower and the Steam Web API. Their content stays theirs and their availability is outside our control. If a source changes its terms, breaks or withdraws access, parts of LootPick change with it.

Outbound links and commission

Store links in LootPick may pass through a partner service before reaching the store, and those links can carry affiliate tracking that earns a commission for us or for that partner. The price you pay is exactly the same either way. Commission does not influence the Buy Now Score, how deals are ranked, or which stores are shown.

Plans and billing

LootPick has a free tier, and paid tiers that remove ads and unlock additional features. The tiers, what each one includes, and any limits on the free tier are shown in the app on the plans screen. Those limits and that feature split can change as the product develops.

• Payment. Paid plans are sold and billed through Google Play, not by us. Your payment method and card details never reach us.
• What you are buying. You are buying the features described for that plan at the time you subscribe. Anything we describe as planned or coming later is not part of what you are paying for now.
• Prices. The current price is shown in the app and on Google Play before you confirm. Google converts and displays it in your local currency and applies tax according to your Play billing country.
• Free trials. Where a plan includes a free trial or a trial period of a higher tier, it converts to the paid plan automatically at the end of that period unless you cancel first. One trial per person per plan.
• Renewal. Plans renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. Google charges you within 24 hours of the renewal date.
• Cancelling. Cancel in Google Play, under Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel anything.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. We can ask Google to look again at a case, but we cannot refund a Play purchase ourselves.
• Changing plan. Upgrades and downgrades run through Google Play, which handles any credit for the unused part of your current plan.
• Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you are on, Google will tell you in advance and you can cancel before it takes effect.

We will not remove a headline feature from a paid tier, during a period you have already paid for, without offering you a way out.

Ads

The free tier may show advertising, supplied by a third-party ad network. Where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before any personalised advertising. Paid tiers that include ad removal do not show ads. How advertising data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

What you may not do

• Scrape, crawl, bulk export or systematically copy data out of LootPick, or point bots and automated tools at the app or our backend
• Resell, redistribute or republish our data, the Buy Now Score or anything else from LootPick as your own product or service
• Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where the law says you may
• Get around ads, tier limits, rate limits or security measures, or use someone else's paid access
• Enter someone else's Steam ID or connect an account you do not control
• Put anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, obscene or infringing into your display name, bio, gaming handles or anything else you type into the app
• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent a connection to a person, studio or store
• Interfere with the service, overload our infrastructure, or try to reach accounts or data that are not yours
• Use LootPick to break the rules of a store, giveaway or platform we link to

Your content

Your profile, bio, handles, lists, notes and logged purchases stay yours. You give us the permission we need to store, process and display them so the app works for you, and nothing more. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

You are responsible for what you put in, and we can remove content that breaks these terms.

Our rights

LootPick, the LootPick name and logo, the Buy Now Score and its methodology, and the app's design, code and copy belong to OAK TEK - FZCO and are protected by intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything.

Game titles, artwork, trademarks and store names belong to their respective owners.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them freely and owe you nothing for them.

Early software

LootPick is new and still moving fast. Features get added, changed and removed, data sources come and go, and things will occasionally break. We may take the service down for maintenance. We do not promise uptime, uninterrupted service, or that every price, score or release date is accurate.

If we discontinue a paid feature or the service itself, we will give reasonable notice and deal fairly with any period already paid for.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using LootPick at any time and delete your account from inside the app.

We can suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, abuses the service, or creates a legal or security risk. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first. If we end paid access for a reason that is not your fault, we will arrange a fair refund of the unused period through Google.

Disclaimers

LootPick is provided as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content. We do not warrant that prices, discounts, converted currency figures, scores, release dates, giveaway listings or availability shown in the app are correct or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost savings, missed deals, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of LootPick, or for anything that happens between you and a store, giveaway or platform you reach through it.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to LootPick is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

Google Play

If you installed LootPick from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to that installation. Google is not responsible for LootPick, for supporting it, or for any claim relating to it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections in your own country and may bring a claim locally where the law gives you that right.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, for example to fees, liability or your rights, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use LootPick after that means you accept the new version.
